So let's talk about skin!!! As someone who pays special attention to their skin, I make sure I use the right products that feed my skin what it needs and gets rid of what it does not need. I had the amazing opportunity to work with the new skincare line My Clarins (its parent brand is 'Clarins') on a campaign for the launch of their new vegan-friendly, natural, range of products. I have been using the products for a month now and when I tell you my skin loves them...I mean they LOVE every single one of them.
I committed to using vegan skincare/beauty products after seeing the beautiful results of a few Herbivore Botanicals products that I began using two years ago as well as wearing vegan makeup. I realized that all those name-brand products that claim to clear your acne after a certain amount of time were not working for my skin because of the harsh ingredients that are in them. Herbivore Botanicals makes amazing products, I will admit, but they are very expensive. As a college student, spending almost $80 on a facial oil is not an ideal way to spend my money. Luckily, My Clarins came through with the affordable products that give my skin a much-needed glow.
Before My Clarins was launched, I always thought Clarins' products were made for older women––and honestly, they are––but this line specifically caters to the "millennial" crowd of people youthful skin. The new line uses simple and natural ingredients to create products that leave your skin hydrated, healthy, and glowing. So what products have I been using?
- Re-Move Micellar Cleansing Milk: If you are a fan of micellar water, then you need to upgrade to this micellar MILK. Sounds different right? Putting milk on my face threw me off at first, but this product is perfect for those nights where I'm too lazy to do my full skincare regimen.
- Re-Boost Refreshing Hydrating Cream: This smells like HEAVEN. This hydrating cream makes the perfect moisturizer, but only for the winter time since I have oily skin and my skin needs that extra hydration; I do not think it would be suitable for the summer just because I prefer to use a moisturizer that is light on my skin. The only issue I have with this product is its lack of SPF, another reason why I would not use it in the summertime.
- Re-Charge Relaxing Sleeping Mask: This sleeping mask can also be used as a night moisturizing cream. I prefer using it twice a week rather than every night because I use a retinoid cream on my skin at night and am not too sure how my skin likes them mixed together, but it has my skin glowing by morning when I do use it.
You can check out the full line of the new My Clarins range here on their website, or here on Ulta's! While these products have been working well on my skin, your skin is not like mine and I did not write this post to make it seem like these will be holy grail products for everyone. I would highly recommend trying them and doing a test patch before so to make sure you are not allergic to any of the ingredients.
